Wix/CarQuest air filters have more pleats and a nicer filter media than others on the market. They will flow "more" but an air filter's ability to "flow more" often has a minimal affect on the engine's power. A good dry clean filter is all you need.

Oiled filters can flow less air and often introduce oil onto the MAF which affects it's ability to meter the airflow.

For what it's worth, the Amsoil air & oil filters are for the most part made by Wix.

Wix 46144, K&N is worthless imo. Overpriced and for the daily driver or weekend warrior there is no real advantage over a paper filter. I have ran both in my daily driver and seen no noticeable differences to make me say that the K&N is superior over the other. I didn't buy the k&n, and glad I didn't. Got it from a friend who I am guessing seen the same thing and dumped it off on me, lol.
