Default hooker headers question

Hey how's it goin have a quick question...

thinking about getting Hooker long tubes and a 3" hooker ORY pipe, should I get the ceramic coated ones or are the black painted ones ok??? Was wondering what the difference would be, besides the coating?

Thanks !!

the coated ones keep heat under the hood down. that's really their only advantage. someone did a dyno with coated and uncoated mac mids, and lost a hp and gained 2 tq between the two. so if hooker header uncoated vs coated results are close to the same as the macs, then it shouldn't matter if they are coated or not. but i don't know, and i've always heard, "go with coated!" so, i am

I have Black coated headers and after about 1 year they are showing rus on them. I would get Jet hot coated next time around.
Just my opinion.

Do you drive your car in the winter? Cause he lives in Texas which makes roadsalt not an issue. I have uncoated headers, they have specs of rust on them after a year and half but nothing major. I bought them because they were cheap, probably gonna change them out to stepped headers though so it doesnt really matter. If money is a priority I would say forget the coating.

I have the black Pacesetters. When they arrived, I had them sandblasted and coated with Redline POR 15. It's high temp manifold paint. I used the aluminum finish. I'll post pictures later, but I've had them on for about 3 months and I have no rust. I'm also in Hawaii and it rains like hell over here.
