Default E-Cutout Location?

Just got my DMH E-Cutout. Where should I have it installed? I was thinking right after the Y pipe on the small straight that connects the cat back to the Y pipe so it would be almost like open headers. Any other ideas?

I have mine installed under the rear passenger seat. It is a good spot to tuck it up in there. I then put the button beside the driver side controls for the seat and ran the wiring through the drain hole behind the driver seat. There should be an opening under the driver side seat in the carpet to run the wires through then put a hole in the drain plug.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

That is a very good idea! I was thinking of running the wire up to the ashtray and making a hole for the switch in the ashtrap.. theres a lot of places to put the switch, convenience isnt really an issue since ill only be opening it and closing it once per car ride or when i feel like it.

Did the cutout make any difference by the way in terms of power?

I have seen cutouts make some power gains and I have seen them make minimal to nothing. It really depends on the exhaust behind them, if it flows really good then there will not be as high of a gain compared to a more restricted "less hp" exhaust.

Closest to the headers. Although get ready for a car filled with gas smell unless you have a decently set turndown pipe.

I have not had mine on a dyno yet so i cannot tell you if there is a difference. But it sure does sound good when its open and not anoying on long trips because it is closed.

Yeah thats really what I am happy about! I was going to just cut out my Borla muffler but why do that when I could just switch between the two lol.

I sometimes wish I put a resonator/bullet muffler in between my FM merge and cutout pipe...

Still a lot louder than a cat-back. Bullet muffler between the merge and cutout eliminates rasp, gives it a deeper tone while still leaving the car plenty loud enough to set off car alarms and get the cops after you. Doesn't sound like ***. Plus if you want to be loud, open it up. You need stealth mode, close it up.

My car has no rasp, I have the same setup as BlackDuk sans the resonator/bullet muffler he has.

Cutout sounds good when WOT or idling but under normal load it sounds tugboat'ish lol. That's why I want one so I can add a little tone...
