I've been debating true duals for quite a while. The rasp that I'm getting from my current setup is just annoying.
Today I was quoted $545 (parts and labor) for true duals out the back with 40 series Flowmaster Mufflers?
Does this sound like a good price and decent setup. It also includes a manufactured x-pipe not one that's just thrown together.

Definately go with the 10 series like redrumss said. Much better sound and you get a ton more ground clearance. There was a video posted a while back of my buddy's car and he had the 10 series flows on his and it is by far the best sounding true dual set up that I have heard yet.
That is a pretty good price.

I think I'll just deal with my raspy exhaust until I get back to the mainland...

You can get the 10 series at Summit or Jegs for like around $80 each if I remember right. There are several different configurations on the sizes of them too. I think you can search Jegs and pull up about 10-15 different sizes of them, I just tried to find the one that would give me the most ground clearance. I found a shop to install my x-pipe and mufflers that I had already bought, run 3" pipe and dump it before the axle for $100. I think I had about $360 all together in my exhaust. It is by far THE best sounding exhaust you can have.

Thats for the Delta Series Race Mufflers. You want two of the one chamberd ones. Just decide on which size. They are as close to not having mufflers as you're going to get, and still have that Flowmaster sound.

Those mufflers are all still 4" thick.. I used Summit PN# FLO-325508. They are only 3 inches thick, just like bullets. Tad wider though
Anyways, they sound great and ground clearance is awesome. I ditched my dual out the back setup, and used the same mufflers for dumps. It sounds 10x meaner. Sounded good before, now I get amaziong bass resonance off the street. Parking garages are alot more fun now. I set off ***17*** car alarms in the parking garage in Greektown yesterday. And thats only on the way in looking for a parking spot. It was sweet
