kooks headers?

It's not so much that the 1-3/4 stepped to 1-7/8 offer the flow of the larger primaries but the smaller diameter primary first helps with velocity and pulls the exhaust out of the head. There have been instances where they have been proven to make more power than 1-7/8 but I haven't seen any done on an fbody and also they are much more$$
I have stepped ARH headers on my car, I believe they were only $20-40 more than full 1 3/4 and I was very happy with the gains over my pacesetters. At the time ARH said they hadn't really done any stepped headers for fbody cars but the fitgment and quality was outstanding. Everyone is amazed how much ground clearance I have with them.

I have kooks lt s and y pipe. They are ceramic coated. The coating has held up very well for the past 3-4 yrs. I'd buy them again for another ride

I'd buy the Kooks Headers and y-pipe just because you can upgrade to the true duals later. Yes, I wish the y-pipe had a better merge and a cutout provision standard, but it'll do until you need to start looking at the duals (450+ hp).

Many of you guys go with coatings on your stainless headers? Wondering if they're worth it?
i think KOOKS may have improved that but ARH is also a good choice.


mine are not coated though it looks much better imo.

Most y-pipe merges suck to begin with. Have one built correctly and be done.
