High Idle????

High Idle???? i never really noticed it to be out of the ordinary untill a few weeks ago (got the car march 12th) , but it idles right at about 1000 - 1050 rpms. is there any frequently arising problems that could account for this? i understand its supossed to be around 850. i figure its probably a vaccum leak somewhere but where would be the first place i should look?

mine idles kinda high too dude 950-1000 i start it up, and it idles at 1000 cold then falls to 950-980 steadily. been fighting this issue and searching endlessly since september 2003 without any information. if you find anything out let me know. i've heard that our tachs can be off ~100 rpms and even as high as 200 rpms. if thats the case them im actually idleing right where i should be. just it would be nice to know if its a vacuum leak, which i've searched for endlessly without any solution...can't seem to find anything that leaks.

Hey guys, same car, same deal. '98 M6 idles 1050 all the time. The people in the PCM diagnostics forum recommended I get it scanned, which I am going to do when I have my exhaust work done in a couple of months. I will post when I find out what the tune says.
