Default Exhaust drama

I've been planning to get true duals for some time now but I can't find a shop to do them. I have Kooks headers with and ORY into my stock WS6 catback. I have a cutout but with it open it is too loud and with it closed it is too quiet. I got stopped by a cop the other day for it being open so I capped it. Also, on a a side note, I noticed a decrease in gas milage as well.(may have been running rich through the cut out) My question is.....should I buy a Catback for the meantime until I find the means to get the duals? Or not even waste the money? I was considering getting a Magnaflow which is on GP right now for 350. What does everyone think?

I just ordered a magnaflow from transamws686 for $315. I am very excited to get it . I have longtubes with a catted y and my car is louad enough! I think you would be happy with a cat back unless you plan on putting alot more HP to your motor in the near future.

True duals are the bomb. I havent done mine yet, but i have everything to do it. I have 2-2.5" dynomax bullet mufflers that i bought for 30 bucks each. then i have i have edelbrock long tubes that i paid 387 shipped with o2 extensions. A local shop quoted me at 175 for the true duals if i bought the mufflers, and this is with an H-pipe. Id go/call to a performance shop near you, like someone that sells performance parts, they should have a muffler shop thatll do it for you. or just call around. but <$200 is the norm id say if you buythe mufflers.

I've tried calling alot of places. Mufflex is near me but they wont do it. Kooks & TTP never make a commitment and/or never get back to me. And as for the local muffler shop, I am not comfortable with their work.

LOL, 200 bucks. Maybe in your neck of the woods but not here. Try about 500 to 1000 for aluminized, dumps or out-back, respectively; and 1000 to 1600 for stainless, dumps or out-back, respectively. I've even spec'ed out all the parts in stainless from the bend angles to band clamps but can't find a place willing to work with me on this.

I just called the Kooks and TTP but they were really not interested. I called them a couple times before but nothing ever manifested so I thought to give it one more shot. Kooks quoted about 2500 and I got "a really expensive" from the TTP. I know they are jacking up the price to cover themselves if it turns into a nitemare for them on a two day install but mostly, I think, because they really don't want to do it. I remember when I first starting inquiring about it (from some of the same places)and I got quoted possibly 1600 and I was like no way. Some places around here are just not interested in doing it because they already have a catback and Y pipe for the LS1. Noone will make a commitment to price or install but I don't want to have a place do it and say "OK that will be your first born child please" I think I will just have to give up on it. No sense in paying that insane price.
