Default just swapped knock sensor question

well lately I've felt a huge loss in power and have been throwing a code for a bad knock sensor (p0332) how long should it take after I swapped both knock sensors for my timing to correct itself? I thought it would be an instant change

i just swapped out an oil soaked knock sensor and it took my car about 3-4 starts to idle and shift smoothly again.

you can do 1 of two things to get it back in spec quick. One is resetting the pcm by unhooking the battery. Then just prime the fuel pump a couple times and start it up. The pcm will have to relearn everything but the timing will be back in spec immediately. The other option is go to the gas station and put more than 1/2 tank in. When the pcm sees more than a 1/4 tank change in fuel level it will reset the timing tables.

now where did you happen to learn the little gas tank trick?

I already tried the gas I put 10 gallons in as soon as I had everything hooked up

I've seen it a number of places one was even a GM rep when he as commenting how on the new l99 camaros you have to reset the pcm to reset the timing takes while the ls1 fbodys did it when more than 5 gallons was put in. To the op I honestly dont know why it wouldnt have worked. If it makes you feel better just unhook the battery for about 30 min

turn the key on but dont start it you will hear the fuel pump run for a few secs than stop. do that one more time and start it

also, my intake has a serial number for an ls1 intake on it butvwhenni took it off the bottom was flat like an ls6 and also did not have the stuff in the back like an ls1 could it have been modified?
