MAF Question
OK, so right now I am running a speed density tune because my MAF is not working.
Which MAF should I get? I have been told by a reputable source that SD is not ideal because Florida's weather changes so much and I drive my car on the street. Also, how much you guys think a used 2002 Z06 MAF is worth?
Car is a 2001 Z06 Cammed with stock heads. Its a bigger aggressive cam, the specs are 232 238 599 601 113 LSA. Thanks in advance for any help, I dont know much about this tuning stuff.

From everything I've read the factory MAF is the way to go. Seems hard to beat for a street car. Did Jeremy recommend SD or just went that way because the sensor crapped out and didn't have one?

^^^ I have heard the stock f-body maf is good to 450ish RWHP (78/75mm?)...The Z06 MAF is 85mm and should support more power. Was your tuner using the correct table for your MAF? The MAF doesn't usually go bad that often, though it can. You should be able to get a used Z06 MAF for hundred bucks or less. The truck MAF is also 85mm, though he might need to use the truck table to get it to work correctly.

Florida's weather doesn't change that much, it's either warm or hot. You don't have the crazy temperature swings as other places.
Come up to the north where in the summer it's humid in the 90s and in the winter it's dry and near 0*.

Just went that way because the sensor **** on us. I found a stock Z06 MAF that I am picking up for cheap. I have to get a dyno tune now anyways because I just got my cam put in.

Whoever told you that is doesn't seem like such a reputable source. SD tunes are just fine when in the weather conditions you are experiencing. If you were going from Florida to the top of the Rocky Mountains then yes it would not be reliable.

Thing is the SD tune relies heavily on the intake temperature sensor for fueling calculation, so that's going to take care of the temperature swings.
Altitude changes is where the SD tune cannot compensate for, that's why I said if you travel to the Rockies you might have issues. But around Florida you shouldn't have a problem.
