ls6 swap ,coolant lines on 2001-2002 camaro
Thinking about doing the ls6 swap to my 2000 camaro. I've done plenty of research on the swap and the coolant lines of the ls6 and rear plugs, or 2 ls6 coolant line with a "t", or making clearance to the underside of the ls6 manifold. I am curious what the 2001-2002 camaros equiped with the ls6 used?

If you have the ls1 valley cover all you have to do is grind the fins on the bottom of the intake to fit the ls1 "x" style lines. If you have the ls6 valley cover you have to buy the ls6 lines and block off the rears OR you can heat and bend the ls1 lines around the "nipples" on the ls6 valley cover and grind the fins on the ls6 intake to fit it. The ls6 intake equipped f-bodies came with the ls1 lines because they did not come with the ls6 style valley cover. I, myself, just bought the ls6 lines with block offs for my FAST intake and 2004 ls6 valley cover just to make it easy.

Ahh makes sense now.. 2001-2002 camaros also got a different valley cover. Thanks, that's good to know. My friend is parting his 02 camaro, so I could easily get the valley cover off of him too.

All 98-02 f-bodies came with the flat, ls1 valley cover. If your friend has installed the 2004 ls6 valley cover I'd buy it from him. It has the PCV/oil separator built into it so it deletes the ls1 PCV lines that run all along the intake and are prone to cracking. Reduces oil in the intake too.

OK sorry for the confusion, what was the stock set-up for the coolant lines on the ls6 equipped bodies? From the factory were they given the ls6 coolant line on the front and plugs in the rear? I can't imagine they removed the ridges from the bottom of the ls6 manifold and used the ls1crossover coolant lines
