P0332 Knock sensor - New sensor
Been throwing p0332 for the rear knock sensor intermittently. Tried running the fuel tank empty, refilling and clearing the code with a scanner however it comes back every few days.
I had the intake off last June (only drove it about 1000 miles since) and replaced the rear knock sensor (Aftermarket, not oem) because a piece of the plastic center broke off the old one - and I specifically didn't want to take the intake back off again to replace it. It was torqued to spec also.
The knock sensor harness was in descent shape at the time I had it off... if anything there might have been a small nick in the front sensors wire - however I patched it and no code is set for the front.
It just seems odd that it would just start acting up now a year later.
The day before the code started showing up I cut the end of the EGR tube off as shown in the "Free mods" .. is there any was this is maybe related? maybe the EGR gases aren't distributed evenly now when the car is running and causing a spark knock on one of the cylinders? (just speculation)..
Besides buying a new sensor and harness what else can I check?
I may have access to a tech II to view the freeze frame records of the code - Anyone how would I tell based off the records if the sensor or harness is bad?

At the time I was desperate and the car was already off the road for a few weeks, so I had no choice but the aftermarket knock sensor.
I learned my lesson with the aftermarket parts with the opsu, but I was able to change the opsu again without removing the intake using an old Indian trick so it wasn't as much work.

That's what I was afraid of. I ordered new AC delco sensors and harness. Just waiting for them to come and I'm gotta slap 'em in.
I'm starting to get good at taking this intake off - although not something I ever desired.
