Default Hooker cat back, is this normal? (PIC)

I just received my exhaust from the UPS guy. As you can see there is a nice size dent on the inlet pipe leading to the muffler. Is this normal?

I wouldn't think it would hurt anything but it isn't supposed to be there.

I put a few dents in mine to make sure it didn't hit anywhere that is was close..

UPDATE: I just went by a friends who has the hooker catback as well. He has a dent in the exact same spot, directly above the panhard rod. Feel around this area, maybe you all didn't notice it? I'm guessig the dent is for clearance issues. What are the chances my friend has the dent in the EXACT same spot, it has to be normal.

I read your lower post about your friend's car. I went out and looked at mine because I remembered seeing that and I have the same dent. It is for clearance.

I decided to wait until tomorrow to instal it. I have a question though....I only got 3 band clamps, shouldn't there be 4? 1 for each tail pipe(outlets), 1 for over the axle, and 1 to connect the I pipe to the Y pipe, that makes 4. Also, is this the ONLY catback that does not come with hangers welded on the tailpipes, im guessing they are not needed?? Excuse my ignorance, this is the first time I will be installing a catback. Thanks...

3 is right

But my hooker catback came with "C" type clamps not band clamps

2 is used for the outlets for each tailpipe on the muffler
1 used for over the axle

The chrome tips have their own clamps
And the clamp where it goes to your y-pipe your suppose to use your stock one. Which is damn near impossible to do with it still leaking.

And your right ,no hangers on the tailpipes, the 2 hangers on each side of the muffler holds it up just fine. Just make sure you tighten the tailpipes into the muffler good and tight or they will fall because of it not having hangers.

btw:I used the 2 "c" clamps for the tailpipes that came with it then I bought 2 - 3" band clamps for over the axle and the y-pipe.If your using a stock y-pipe you might want to try Thunder Racing for a 2.75" band clamp.

Hope that answers your questions
