Default LS1 Identification

I bought a ls1/t56 pullout on ebay to swap into my 240z and am starting to look into the swap parts and process. I'm still learning a lot about these engines and was just looking for some help identifying what year this pullout is from mainly to start research on wiring.

Also, it would be cool to know how to spot the differences and any general recommendations on things to look for or do before I put the motor in. The two I've heard so far is clutch and rear main seal.

its a 98 ls1. it has the ls1 intake with the egr tube by the tb. it has perimeter valve cover bolts and 806 heads

^^ Yup, easiest way to spot it. I did the same thing when I bought my first LS1.
