Default Which style of header?

Ok so to start off with I'm looking at getting headers and and I've always heard longtime a are better all around. But I was wondering since I have a more of a top end cam (236/240 .598/.608 114) if it would actually be better to go with more of a shorty header since that's where my power and is already at. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Longtubes! Shorty's are a waste, unless you have to pass emissions.

Then longtubes for sure. Don't waste your money on shorties, you won't get any measurable gains from them.

Go stainless if you can, I didn't see that mentioned and if I did it over again I would pay a little more for that.

Is stainless really all that much better? A set of hooker longtubes painted is $267 and I like the sounds of that personally.

good question as I've never considered 'painted', I'd be interested in the followup comments. I do want to paint my non-stainless Pace Setters! The are pitting at the bottoms of the collectors, and I don't even drive it in the rain! I've thought about taking a wire wheel to them, strip the rust pits and paint them with a high temp paint.

For the price difference I think I'll go with the painted and if worst comes to worst I can get a set of stainless later down the road.

I'd recommend ceramic coated if not stainless, it is not a fun job that you would want to do twice IMO.
