Excuse my ignorance, but what is the hub Simulator used for???

I was looking at the front timing cover, rear timing cover, and the oil pump installer tool package when I saw the other package and was curious what the hub simulator was for.

Hi,
The Simulator is used if say ,your using your old seal and don't want to pull the seal out of the cover. The Simulator is the same size as the hub and easier to use instead of the hub.

Thanks
Christian

Why would you need a tool for oil pump?

Hi llan808,
It makes centering the oil pump easier and more accurate than eye balling or doing the feeler gauge technique.

Thanks,
