hey guys so im getting mixed reviews on everywhere i look as far as swapping to the ls6 coolant lines and coolant plugs in the rear, everyone is either stating its fine to do or that cylinder 7 gets hot?? im just trying to get solid info on weather or not i should swap over? i already shaved the bottom of my ls6 intake but the ls1 lines still interfere thats why im asking.

 

I'm no pro or anything, but if GM did this in 2001, then I'd surmise it's safe to do so in your own garage.

 

Good point. I never had any issues myself. If you switched to the ls1 lines and still have an LS6 valley cover, that's why they are interfering. The LS6 valley cover has little ribs on it that the lines hit. You can bend the lines to fit if you really want, but I hear it's a bit of a pain. I think you'll be safe going to the LS6 coolant lines. Just don't run crazy amounts of timing or anything else that might increase combustion temperatures. Good luck!

which is my thought process on the whole thing, but like i said i am hearing alot about some issue with cylinder 7? i just wanna make sure if i do it im not gonna have issues down the road thats all.

Might as well do the LS6 cover while you have it all off. It's $100 and really cleans up the engine bay.

No issues, there's a 500-1,000rwhp z06's on the road using the ls6 coolant lines still, this conversion is VERY over thought. I put the ls6 lines and block offs on my car with the 2004 ls6 valley cover. Cleaned everything up and now I don't consume near as much oil.
