Default Leaking FAST 92

I recently got a FAST 92 and I am burning oil. This showed me that the FAST 92 halves were leaking. I couldn't find any threads for people disassembling and sealing up the intake. Does anyone have any links to threads that suggest ways to go about it?

It's pretty straight forward, like 6 bolts, 3 in the front, 3 in the rear. Pulling off the top half will reveal the orange gasket that snakes it's way in between the runners. You can pick up a new gasket for it for like 25 or 30 bucks. Try Summit. If you want to separate the bottom half from the middle, I believe that's a little more in-depth.

i dont know if this applies but the newer fast 102's installation instructions tell you to take the shell apart and black rtv the back half to ensure a tight seal. just a thought it could work on those as well

Maybe I'm new to this, but how does burning oil automatically mean your new intake is leaking? Is this absolutely a new issue, or something you just noticed?

I got it apart. The gasket looks fine. Should I black RTV the whole thing or just where it was leaking?

No.

Replace the orange rope gasket. It's spent. Only thing you should have to RTV is where the rope sections meet. That's it.

I'm with themealonwheels. How in the world do you figure a leaking intake manifold has ANYTHING to do with burning oil, or vice versa?

Oh, you know what? He just worded it funny, there were two issues. He had a leaking intake. He discovered this because he was "burning oil" (he saw oil at the leak, coming from the intake.)

Now I get it... LOL

So what are you doing about the burning oil? Catch can?

Good eye, Watson!!

I agree, get a catchcan on that thing pronto. Look into an LS6 valley cover if you haven't done so already as well... Intake is already off.

your MAP sensor gasket mite be leaking ,maybe use black atv there also.using a lot of oil mite be a sign a faulty PCV system, mite need a new PCV valve or new PCV hoses .
