Default Can I run no MAF??

I am wondering if it is possible to run no MAF??

The set up that I am going to be running is a FTP 98mm Lid and a FAST 102mm. If I have to run a MAF I would get the SLP 85mm.

Please give me your feed back. I am tunning this with a HP Tuner Pro.

yes you can but you will have to run a speed density tune.

Look up speed density or just SD. Should get a ton of hits. Its very common.

With speed density, you need to keep changing the tune with the different air conditions when it changes from the day you tuned it. However, if you own the tuning program and know how to, it's not a problem. Speed density is way better than reading off the MAF though.

Do you drive the car year round? Does the car see drastic temperature changes or drastic changes in elevation. If the answer is no, then SD tune would be fine.

I drive it only during the summer due to me living in Montana and the temp changes here a lot... So it looks like I will be running a MAF then.

So next question is what MAF should I use???

If you only drive it during the summer months, I don't see why a SD tune wouldn't work for you. I doubt the temperature changes during the summer months are drastic enough to affect anything. I'm talking about temperature changes of 50+ degrees.

It does change enough to make a difference like around 20-30 degrees. So then still do an SD or get a MAF.

I don't see a 30 degree change affecting things, so if it were me, I'd be comfortable going with a SD tune. Mine is Open Loop SD tune and it runs it's ***** off. I live in Missouri and only drive the car in the spring, summer and early fall months.

Means it doesnt use the 02 sensors for fueling feedback.

If you delete the maf, you will need to wire in an air temp sensor somewhere in the intake pipe or intake itself.
