starter motor fitment? shim? hello
just wondering on the golden rule for spacing between the starter gear teeth and the flexplate.
i know there is supposed to be no shim but my stater seems a little sticky, what is the spacing between the flexplate and drive gear when they are engaged?

I've never seen a shim on a Gen3 motor. Perhaps your starter issue is well......a starter issue. Items like starters and alternators generally don't last near as long as the vehicle/engine.
