Default Misfire?

Possible causes for a misfire? According to one of those orange scanners I have a misfire doesn't really describe a code or what cylinder. I can't really tell if the car is misfiring either the idle is smooth, etc.

Do you have the P0*** code number? Hard to tell you anything without it. However, misfires could be caused by SEVERAL things, need to know if its a random multiple misfire, or an individual cylinder. If its a single cylinder misfiring, its generally going to be a coil pack, spark plug, or fuel injector. Easiest way to eliminate it being a coil pack related problem would be to switch the coil pack from the misfiring cylinder to a different cylinder, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes(to delete the code) and start it and see if the misfire moved to the cylinder you put the coil on or if its still misfiring on the same cylinder.
