Default meziere elec. water pump, do i have to route the belt onto it?

ok I have no power steering or anything anymore, I was thinking about buying a meziere and just routing my belt around crank and alternator. its a non street car, do you need that pulley to turn for the water pump to work right

The point of an electric water pump is to exclude it from the accessory drive. So no, don't put a pulley on it and run a belt over it.

The race version is what you want , not the street version which is designed to have the drive belt route around a WP pulley.

If you have the WP319_ (insert letter for color of pump here) then yes, you use the factory serpentine belt. Its only used so you dont have to buy special belts.

If your using WP119_ (insert letter for color of pump) then no, you dont use the factory serpentine belt. It doesnt have provisions for a belt.

The COPO Camaros use the WP119SHD water pump.
