Default Do u need a tune after header/lid install?

Im waiting on my pacesetters, they should be here anyday, also a lid. Will i need a tune?

You won't NEED a tune, but to optimize the addition of the headers, a tune would be good. But you don't have to have one.

wrong forum man

Yout dont need a tune, i ran my car with most of the bolt-ons and a 3600 stall converter and the car still ran very well (high 11's) with no tuning except playing wit the HPP3

Like they said You don't need a tune, but it can find some extra ponies for you from leaning it out. You will be running rich after the header install. I personally don;t think it is worth it unless you are buying a copy of edit for yourself like I am going to do, so you can retune it with every mod yourself.

Not all people run rich enough though to effect performance greatly. A tune would help but it is not nessasary.

didn't need a tune when i installed the bassani headers with y-pipe and cats. matter of fact during the dyno run testing the headers, the ECM showed 990-1002 coming from the O2s. even after they installed the airlid w/polyfoam filter. so they installed the MAF housing and brought them down to 890-910. graphs here.

I would say check the a/f after to be sure. My car went way lean (almost 14 to 1 at 3500rpms) after my pacesetter install. For some reason the LT's combined with all my other bolt-ons caused this. Most people do not have a problem, but your best bet is to get it checked just in case. Better safe than sorry. Take Care and Good Luck.

it depends on your AFR... go put her on a dyno and see where your at. and then youll know if you need tuning (way rich or way lean!) and youll probly pick up 10-15rwhp!

i didnt have any tuning with my headers... i went 11.7s with just boltons and no tuning
