Default Flowmaster True Duals DIY Kit?

Anyone ever try using this kit from summit to build their true duals? It looks pretty comprehensive. I figure it can be routed over the axle and then use bullet mufflers like the Kooks system but at a much lower price and can probably be made quieter depending on which mufflers are used.

I have suggested this kit a few times , but you will need a few custom bends to complete the system.

I used their basic kit years ago and made a turn down system. Its generally a pain in the butt, but where there's a will, there's a way.

I agree, it does take time and patience. Here are the two kits that I built. First was a 2.5" H pipe and second is a 3" Xpipe. With the 2.5" I was able to retain the factory panhard bar brace, the 3" needed a relocation kit. I used round magnaflow mufflers on both.

That looks great! I see you were able to weld to the magnaflow mufflers. Did you use stainless or mild steel tubing? Any sound clips?

The exhaust is aluminized tubing, the mufflers are stainless. I just welded them with a mig using steel wire. Here is a vid of the car at the track.

Custom 3" over the axle true duals. LS1 Trans Am - YouTube
Ok cool. I wasn't sure if you could weld the magnaflow mufflers with regular steel wire. I called flowmaster and their pipe kit is 409 stainless so that can be welded with reg steel wire. I assume since poltergeist did it magnaflow mufflers are made of a similar grade. This is great. I think I'm definitely going the DIY TD route. I think the Kooks system will be too loud for my taste.

poltergeist, do you get any drone/rasp at all with your system? It sounds great from the video.

What other options are there for bullet mufflers? Magnaflows sound nice but I really like Bassani's sound. Do they make a 3" bullet muffler? I only found a 3.5".
