Default True Dual Setup, Need Help

After doing a little bit of research, I've decided to go with a true dual exhaust for my '98 Trans Am WS-6. I do know for sure that I will be going with a Texas-Speed 1-7/8" Long Tube Headers. Ultimately, I would also like an H-Pipe that goes over the axle (not dumped).

So my questions are these: Where can I find a good H-pipe that does over the axle? And what are some good mufflers for a setup like this? Also, what else do I need to look into buying before taking this into a exhaust shop?

Really what I want is a sound very similar to this:

I am about to run a true-dual system on my car looking for a shop to install but here is what parts I have. X-pipe off ebay, classic chambered medium powersticks, over axle, classic chambered resonators before tips. 3" all the way. you will need a panhard rod relocation kit I found one for 89.95 Founder's performance. If you go to classic chambered exhausts website and go to sight and sounds page, then scroll down to the white WS6 and listen.

You can get a 3inch flowmaster u-fit kit for like 300$. That is all the pipe including the h pipes. Then you just need the two mufflers of your choice. I like the borla xr-1 my self. Nice deep tone. And then some tips like Corsa clones or whatever you like.

Finally a guy with a good exhaust idea ! I too have suggested this kit before, I have not used it but , I believe that it will put you pretty close , may need 2or 3 custom bends to get it complete. For those that have too have stainless, its a great deal its only $50 bucks more.

Keep in mind its a universal kit , but its the best U kit I have seen and most of those bends can be used. Yes this will a let go down the right side.

So this flowmaster ufit kit will let you get true duals but can it be ran over the passenger side with 2 1/2" piping no problem?

The kit has 2 J bends that may get you over the axel they may not have enough radius but should be close . Custom bends will be needed, to be made with any U kit. And 2 1/2 will be easier than 3" .

I was reading in the sticky section on TDs and think with this kit you could do an easy install under the axle. Seen a few pics in there that show no clearance issues on it.

What kind of muffler would work nice to keep the rasp out. Or would you go with a catalytic converter to help?

It may be a little more than you want to spend, but I went with the Bassani kit they have at WS6 store. It fits really good and sound good.

Default 3" Duals

Just completed my 3" True Dual System last week in my 98 SS. I put a LS3 HOT CAM Crate Engine in the car with Texas Speed 1" 7/8 Headers. No Cats but did install cutouts to a Magnaflow X-Pipe. Duals run down the Passenger side of the driveshaft and up over the Axle. You have to use Pandhard relocation bar to get over the axle, but definetly better than goin under. Used 15" KOOKS Race Mufflers with Corsa Clone Tips... It sounds amazing and looks great too. The x pipe does not drone like all the H pipe kits ive seen. All of my pipe came for mandrelbendingsolutions.com out of Maryland. They sell kits with assorted Mandrel bends that also come with straight pieces. All in all i have about 500 bucks in my setup given i did all the work myself.

Sounds like you went custom , like to see how it turned out can you post pics .Which Kooks muffler did you use the round race K 300-14 those are a little loud arent they? I think the KO 300-12 would be a bit quieter and still flow well.
