idle issues, iac??
idle issues, iac?? My car has been having an idle issue which seems to be getting worse. It has similar symptoms of a vacuum leak, but i have checked for vacuum leaks 3 times and nothing shows up. Around 75% of the time, when i come to a stop, the idle sticks to about 1400rpms and drop to about 1000 when it hits a complete stop. The idle also surges between 1000-1200rpms when idling at a stop.
My car is stock internals, ls6 intake, ls6 valley cover, EGR!, AIR!, new eval purge solenoid, and about 105k miles.
Ive checked for vacuums many times and can't find any. I also notice that when i plug the small hole in the throttle body blade, then the problem stops and idles perfectly.
Also, i noticed that whenever i unplug the IAC while the car is in idle, the rpms shoot up to about 2k and stay there. Mostly everywhere i read, the opposite happens. Has anyone had this problem before? or any ideas on what to do?

heres also another funny thing that might be related with the IAC. Whenever i turn the steering wheel all the way to any side to active power steering, the idle also goes back to normal. I read somewhere that the IAC responds with certain electric devices like lights and power steering.

Question is how are you checking for leaks? Did you hook it up to a smoke machine? Cause i had a massive intake leak & it didnt show until i pumped smoke into the intake. Sounds like a leak. I dont think that lil hole is the problem or the car would of done it its hole entire life.

Was your car modded when this happened? Ive also heard it could be in the tune. I don't have any way to tune my car though. Might have to invest in tuning software.

Verdad Gallardo All I did was adjust the idle to be steady and it fixed it.
Yes it was modded. Last fall before I drove the car it was fine then in the spring it was doing it before I put on a ported TB. I checked and replaced vacuum hoses, intakes/tb gaskets and replaced the iac/tps and it didint help.
