lid/airbox restriction?????????????

Default lid/airbox restriction?????????????

Anyone found at what hp the lid/airbox/filter size starts to become a restriction yet? I've been think about trying some stuff I figured I would see what others have tried first.

I'm guessing it's a restriction at some level at any given point. Question is how much at what level, and is the cost to benefit ratio worth doing something about. Doing the ram air mod (SSRA, Chris1313, etc..) seems like a wothwhile mod at any given point, especially for the money

theres bigger lids as you know but my tuner told me not to bother.

Stock is heinous from day one. Most aftermarket, you can't tell
from straight pipe.

The restriction would vary on how much air you're moving. At 400 hp it might me 5hp over no restriction.....at 500hp it could be 8hp. I've did my own ram ait stuff. I did my own testing to determine which way works better there.

Yea I'm n/a. I made my lid out of carbon. Smoothed it up a bit and gave it the most area you possibly can and fit under the hood.

I didn't know if anyone ever tested a velocity stack type of intake to the lid type to see if/when it becomes a restriction.....even the area of the filter.
