I think this is the first time I have read Borla and quiet in the same sentence. Are you wanting to make it louder? If so there is a plate on the passenger side exhaust pipe that you can change out. There's also a Borla specific electric cutout that goes in place of the plate.

With a stock sized exhaust valve I would suggest 1 7/8 headers also. This is from talking to Brian Tooley.

^ I read that thread too and it almost stopped me from switching to 1 7/8". While it probably plays some roll I'd have to say cam choice and overlap is the biggest difference. I have 1.575 ex valves on my heads and gained 20hp & 15tq switching to 1 7/8". My cam has over 10* of overlap.

Are all borla cat backs adjustable? I feel like my six cylinder mustang Is louder than my Camaro. I want more noise and the increase in power. Car is stock besides the borla cat back so I want to do headers, sfc, and a 9in as the starting mods

The difference between 1 3/4" and 1 7/8" is very minimal even on a stock car. If you are planning a cam and other mods later on, I would go 1 7/8". You will have a little better torque numbers down low with the 1 3/4" but with the addition of a cam you will see more gains up top.

As for the emissions issues. As stated it varies by state, but we do have our 49 state legal GREEN cats which will allow you to run the rear O2 monitoring even with the long tube headers. We are the only company in the industry to offer this type of high flow performance cat. If your state just does visual inspections, the standard high flow cats will pass.

Good luck with whatever system you decide on and keep Kookin' with Kooks.

I made a thread about it but here is my dyno sheet before and after switching to 1 7/8" headers. The 1 3/4" were also kooks and this was on the same dyno after a touch up tune. Before numbers were also tuned.

If you decide to go with the Kooks, PM me for pricing and let me know if you got quoted somewhere else. I will try to meet or bet any vendors price on Kooks.
