Idler Pulley squeak!!
Hello my fellow LS1 owners,
I own a 2002 Trans Am and I have been having a problem with this annoying squeak coming from the Idler pulley. I already replaced the idler pulley and the tensioner pulley and still getting the annoying squeak. I narrowed it down to the idler pulley. I turn on the car and right away it starts squeaking and it squeaks as I drive for a long while. The way I narrowed down the squeak to the idler pulley, was to spray WD40 on every pulley that I can see and squeak stops when I start spraying on the idler pulley. The squeak goes away for a few minutes and comes right back. Like I mentioned before, I replaced the pulley already and still have the squeak. :-(
Any ideas?
I have no place to turn to. I have searched endlessly with no luck.
Thank you,
Ray

Had this problem about a week ago after I changed my power steering pump which decided to throw fluid every where. Car had a tiny chirp at first, which got louder as I would accelerate. Changed out my tensioner and idler and sound went away. But I think it was just the fluid that had to wear off. No real help I know, sorry but maybe try the tensioner next, you can at least get your money back if that's not the problem

Kinda weird, lately I've been having some problems with my AC tensioner squeaking at idle.. but going away after it gets warmed up? Doesn't really bother me though.
