Default swapping from ls6 to fast 90 intake

I'm about to switch intakes on my motor and I was wondering if there was anything I would have to watch out for? Ive heard that I would have to change valley cover bolts and may not be able to run factory ls6 crossover stream tube??? Can anybody please give me some input on if this is actually true? Or if there is any other potential problems? Thanks

the ls6 coolant tubes should be just fine. the bolt on the valley cover will not work you need flush mount allen head bolts in order to clear the intake

you will most likely have to slightly bend the crossover tube to clear the front of the fast. You can do this without removing the steam tube/crossover. I just gently pushed down on it and had enough clearance.

Do you need to use washers on the fast button head bolts? Locktite?

I bought my FAST used, came with no hardware. The M8 button head bolts for the valley cover do not need washers, used no locktite either. Though a dab of the blue locktite would probably be ok. FWIW I have had that intake off for various reasons and the valley cover bolts have never backed out.

Hardware you will need if your intake does not come with any fasteners..

M8 x 30mm button head cap screws for the valley cover (10)
M6 x 35mm TB bolts (4)
M6 x 110mm intake bolts (10)
M6 flat washers (10)

i have an 02 z28 and did the exact thing you are doing and i had no problems at all. everything fit perfect. i have a question though does your intake have a spot on the back where the heater wire and vacuum line hook up is it 1 or 2 pronged?

I think he is referring to the vacuum bung/prongs on the back left and right side. On mine there was one on each side @ the back. A large vacuum prong on the back right for master cylinder hookup and smaller one on back left side.

Whoops, guess that would have been helpful...The button head valley cover M8 bolts are 1.25mm, M6 intake bolts are 1.00mm and believe the M6 TB bolts are also 1.0mm.
