What about gains going from what OP has to the Kooks 2" headers? My stainless works headers are 1 3/4 primaries, but they have 2.5" collectors. If I replace the headers, it's going to be with the Kooks 2" ones.

I appreciate it. I'm going to go with the true duals though, or it wouldn't be worth it in my eyes. I want a different sound, and even if it's just in my head, dual 3in pipes, has to be better than a single 3 inch. Or even 4 inch for that matter.

You'll gain power. It's been tested and the later primaries did gain power.

I've never seen a test vs 1 3/4", 1 7/8" and 2" on an LS1. The one I saw was an LS3 and the 2" did make the most power.

The 1 7/8" will definitely shine the further you mod the car. I've done a swap between 1 3/4" and 1 7/8" when I had H/C/I/E. Both sets were Kooks and on the same dyno. I saw a 20 rwhp and 15 rwtq increase.

According to the guys over at ARH stepped show their gains when your running open headers, and they are useless on FI. There was a big thread on it. I'll post it when I'm on my desktop.

I tend to believe them since they sell both.

Kooks also makes a stepped header that Maryland Speed sells. I believe they have shown gains in back to back testing. I run the Edelbrock stepped headers with good results, but I only have stock manifolds to compare them to.

Your numbers above surprised me -- wouldn't have expected the increase to be that substantial. Pleasant surprise. Was that on a stock cube motor or a larger build?

They surprised me as well....I was expecting 5-10 HP. Yes my results were on a stock cube motor.

Just to clear up some misinformation about our headers.
1. We didn't copy anyone. It has taken us a couple of months with our New C7 Vette in the shop while having custom headers made up for it from scratch. I bet 8 sets where scrapped due to the builder not being happy with them as we have to make sure they install fairly easily and not just make power. We build them, then we have them mass produced. Our collector location on the F-Bodies is in the same location as Pacesetter as that is what we originally designed our True dual set up to mount up to.

2. Our headers are not the same headers as OBX or any other e-bay header.

All of that being said, when we re-designed our 1-7/8" header we put a very good collector on it with a spike merge collector. You would see gains going to the 1-7/8" TSP headers over the 1-3/4" set up. If it was me, personally, I would sell the Kooks and you'd have enough money for the TSP 1-7/8" headers and a little change left over to put toward other goodies.

I appreciate you getting back with me. That's pretty much my goal, to change the whole setup without costing me any money out of pocket.

I can sell Kooks 1 3/4 LT's, Kooks 3in ORY, 3in Stainless e cutout, and a stainless magnaflow catback.

I want to buy TSP 1 7/8 LT's, new header gaskets, and the TSP true duals.

Quick Reply: Any gains going from Kooks 1 3/4 LT's to TSP 1 7/8 LT's?
