Default Stock LS1 Fuel Pump Limits?

At what power level should I need a higher flowing fuel pump? Im afraid my stock pump is holding me back causing me to miss out on a few ponies.

from what ive read, stock fuel system tops out around 425-475 n/a whp... that being said im sure the 28# injectors will be the weak link before the pump gets maxed out

X2 ^^^

The stock injectors are going to be maxed out before the stock pump. What was your injector duty cycle when you had the car tuned ?

Im currently running 48 lb injectors, so their far from the limiting factor.

I dont have an accurate dyno sheet, but my car should be around 470ish rwhp.
I have Trickflow 215cc CNC heads, milled to 61cc, vengence racing vrx5 camshaft etc...

U better get a pump asap with that much power. I would not trust the stock pump over 400rwhp. That pump is not made to supply that much fuel and remember the stock fuel system is returnless so a weak pump will cause a ton of pulsing in the fuel rail cause its a dead head.

I definetly want a new pump asap but wanted a second opinion on it. I thought about buying a walboro 255 but it may not flow enough fuel if I wanted to spray the car, which may happen in the future.

The racetronix kit with hotwire is said to be good to 600rwhp. The hotwire kit is the key because u get more voltage to the pump.

is the kit being applied to a walboro 255 pump(same as the racetronix one)? how much does a kit + pump combo typically cost?

The 340 would get you more in the end if you plan on some Go Gas in the future. I had a Walbro 255 with a hot wire kit and started to loose pressure around the 550 wheel HP mark. This was on a blower car witch will tax the fuel system a little more than NO2.

I vote if you have the $$$ and NO2 is in your future go with the 340lph and a hot wire kit.

Your 48lb injectors should get you close to the 550-600 hp mark.

ill probably go with the aem 340 lph pump since more power is definitely in my future. Are all hotwire kits the same? and hopefully my 48 lb injectors handle a 100 shot without too much trouble.

i asked the same question on the fueling section , and the racetronix tech told me that with stock regulator you will see a significant increase in pressure , you will need a front mount regulator , also that the return line will get overloaded on stock system over 300lph pumps

i will go for the performance rx pump 255 with hotwire kit

I'm still new here, but given that I have been fairly active with my car for the past six months (completed full bolt-on upgrades, custom tune and some suspension upgrades) I want to say thanks for posting this sponsor's link. My car is not starting properly and I've just replaced my alternator, starter, and battery chasing down other electrical issues and this starting issue I'm having. My next turn is a replacement fuel pump because it looses compression between starts. My 2000 Z28 has 183,000 miles so I really hope she'll hold up for a good while longer.
