Default Qtp

I am getting close to ordering my QTP headers. What are the opinions on their optional "high velocity merge collector"? Is is worth the extra $500? Any information appreciated.

Thanks,

Not unless you are trying to squeeze every single horsepower from the car. The merge collectors are good enough and have made some nice gains. The HVC's are nice but, not for everyone. I bought the QTP LT's without the HVC's and I am sure they will outperform the Hooker LT's I once had.

I would have liked to get them when I ordered them, but I didn't have the money. I have regular collectors and the headers are excellent!! I made 338hp/347tq with mods in the sig. I'm going to be switching to true duals in the summer.

i have the QTP High Velocity collectors....

i had jet hot headers before... and by swithing to the QTPs i picked up a good amount of power..
The HV collectors and a "true collector" Y pipe will always yield more power since it scanvanges a lot better...

If you have no need to have any emmissions devices on your car ( cats ) I would go with the high velocity merge collectors. The headers won't have the air/egr tubes, so that stuff will have to go too. I went with the regular collectors and catted Y pipe only because CT's sucko emmissions program only allow's one failed/bypassed emmissions device, so my AIR system needed to stay on the car, the rear o2's are probably gonna be my 1 failed/bypassed device. The car's in the shop this weekend getting the headers installed, I asked for a before dyno test so that I will have some before headers and after headers/tune results, I will post them as soonas I get the car back (This Monday or Tuesday)

The more I read about QTP, I think I should have went with their LT's and catted Y pipe. Oh well, my Kook's LT's and their catted Y should be here anyday now. They aren't to shabby!

P.S. Are QTP LT's made at their OWN facility like Kook's, or does a 3rd party produce them and put on the QTP badge?

I've had my QTP's with HVM's and the dual QTEC y-pipe on my car for about 2 weeks now and love them. My car is pretty slammed so I'm having the y-pipe customized for better clearance in about a week. I don't have any new #'s yet, but will post them when I do.
