Wiring Help...
Wiring Help... My friend has a 98 trans am and we need help finding out where the copper breaded wire goes on the driver side of the motor. From the alternator to the block? cuz we have no clue the wire is just sitting there and it has no place to go. We had the wire hooked up from the block to the firewall and the starter worked but that wire started smoking. So we took the wire off the block and put it on the alterntor to the firewall and the starter didnt work nomore. Its like grounding itself out or something. Please help.. Thanks
There needs to be a good block-to-chassis strap in
there somewhere. Maybe that one isn't it but, if it
was smoking, your block and your sheet metal are
not both at ground and this is not a good thing for
sensor / PCM sanity. Maybe follow your battery
ground cable around and make sure its block and
any other connections are clean, tight.
