ATI themselves do not recommend their 25% UDP as it does not offer as good of dampening characteristics. Also the ATI is not much more expensive as you can get a factory blem (still fully functional) for $220 shipped.

They are not really "blems" they just decided to undercut all of their dealers to get their sales up. WE cannot buy them as cheap as they are selling them for. Yet they refuse to change their pricing. And afaik its only for the vettes and only stock dia.
Shady business practices apparently only hurt the distributors in their eyes.

aticustomercare on the bay. They didn't have the exact one I needed, so I sent them a message and they were able get me one. I ended up ordering it by phone and used my credit card.

As far as it being only for Corvettes and stock diameter, that is not accurate as I purchased a 10% UD for the F-body/GTO. That is unless they lied to me when they spec'd it out for me on the phone, guess I'll find out when I go to install it in a few weeks. I read this "trick" in some other threads with happy customers, so hopefully I got the right parts.

I had only heard of them doing this for the vette guys but they have decided to branch out.
You can be certain this kind of practice does not sit well with their distributors.

I guess an underdrive pulley will be my next mod. I made 404/382 cam only with a stock harmonic balancer, and am not quite ready to drop $2.5k on a set of heads.

Love how the ATI 8 rib pulley kits went up 2-300$ in the last couple months.

I think they went up well before that.
The gains from underdrives are undeniable definitely. I am glad the OP posted up his results. I know every engine, be it ls or not, that I have a chance to work on gets one.

I have always "heard" 7-10 at the wheels. It is good that it looks like it frees the power up Pretty good in the mid range and upper RPMs. I am sure if the dyno runs didnt have to start around 3k you would see the gains start at a lower rpm as well.

Mine is also a blem unit. As stated ati wont recommend the 25% underdrive. I gained around 7 with mine so I'm pretty comfortable with saying they are the same as any other underdrive. I dont think its right what ati is doing they should at least let others sell the blem units. I cant speak for others but mine is certainly blemished, all the timing marks on mine are slightly misstamped.

Great gains! Thanks for posting. Was Don surprised?

I have not had any charging issues with mine but I did have an alternator die probably unrelated.

The big killer for fbody alts is either oil leak contamination or the horrible field circuit wire they use that always breaks.

Any of them work. The people that try to disprove the powerbond have no real proof or reason. I've installed so many powerbonds and sold so many ive lost count. The powerbond balancer is the most popular for the ls market periodn.

One of the best mods for the ease of install and gains, plus no tuning needed!
We are selling ours with the hawk install tool as well in a GP. Really good prices!
Every LS vehicle I have had, if I ever did work that included removal of the pulley, got an underdrive, unless it was a truck, then it automatically got one whether i needed to remove it or not.
