Default Jet Hot Longtube question.....

I am going with the JetHot Longtube headers and ORy-pipe. The question is how well does this system acctually fit(good or bad), and do any of you guys have a cool sound clip of this system with the SLP Loudmouth catback. What 1/8th mile times have any of you hit with only these mods, plus of course an Air Lid.

My Jet-Hots fit very well, no grinding or banging. Try www.ls1sounds.com , however I suggest you listen to a LT/ORY/LM car in person to decide if you like it. Conventional wisdom says you won't. Mine had a lot of rasp. It sounded badass over 3000 rpms, but from 2300-2600 .

I have borla wide open, which is very similiar to lm, very raspy as stated but SCREAMS up top. Turns heads even if your at the track. Fitment was good, except for the y- pipe banging. Unfortunately i've had bad luck with the coating, mine are completely rusted after only a year. Car doesn't see snow and hardly any rain, sits in a dry garage. I know they will re-coat them for me if i ship them out, but what a pain that'll be.

I had my Hooker LT's recoated by JetHot and what a pain in the ***. You cover shipping both ways and the coating was rusted in the first year. I would save up for QTP Stainless and have something that will last a long time.

Thanks for the info!!!!! The stainless sounds like my kind of deal. I would hate to take a set off and on to re-coat. Guess I will save my pennies. Unless I get impatient. l

My car has been up on jackstands for 3 weeks due to this little problem. Is is best to do it right the first time and spend more money on better quality. Welding is not a science, it is an art.

I would save up the money and get SS from TTS or SSW. Jet Hot coating doesn't live up to it's name. The fit is good, but hardware is cheap! I can see rust between the headers near the flanges, and the car has never seen rain or a car wash! ORY and catted ORYP are holding up.

I got my jethot coated longtubes with the coating already on them. There is a little rasp in the mid to upper 2K range, but it's not bad. If you like the rasp of the aluminum block, have a cutout that dumps after the rear axle. Personally, my cutout is before the axle and holy crap is it loud. LOL
