This box was holding my screen door open when I got home today.
As I'm doing an engine build, I'm gonna hang the headers on the motor while on the stand to see if there's any fitment issues.
Strange though-this starter came with non-knurled bolts. They are nice 12 pt stainless but I know knurled bolts help the starter from moving around. I'm probably gonna uses knurled bolts.

Ever get those headers hung to see if there was any interference? I'm looking at the same starter right now.

My starter had 145k miles on it and was the old style long/short bolt. The new one cost me $88 and is all new 1.6HP starter using the same case/bracketry of the newer LS motor starters with the two long bolts. Seemed like a worthwhile upgrade.

I just put a long bolt version on my 455ci Ls7 today. I have 2" Kooks, while there is good clearance, it is a tight fit to get it into place. I have a tubular k as well, so I would have more room than a stock k member.
Just putting it out there as an FYI.
Only reason for the change is I lost my stocker. Which had not issues with 455ci and 11.1:1 compression and powered with a Braille 15lb battery.

Be glad you don't have a C5 with Pfadt headers. I can BARELY get a single sheet of paper between the rear edge of the starter and a primary tube. I refuse to dimple them.
If the starter ***** the bed, I'll get a smaller one, or grind and reseal a new one.
