valve covers I have a LS1 out of a 97 Vette and the valve covers have bolts around the outside edge. All the aftermarket ones I see have the 4 center bolt covers. I thought all LS1 had the same valve covers. Am I going to have to change heads? Thanks for any help.
You will need perimeter bolt to center bolt adapters if you want to use the newer style valve covers. Check Summmt racing, they sell them. Probably not worth the cost unless you are looking for a different look.
I have a 1998 Trans Am and I am in the process of a a 383 build and ended up getting new heads. In order to use the heads, I ended up getting the Holley Valve covers. Well, the coil pack bolts are for later model coil packs so I ended up getting late model coil packs and the coil pack harnesses. I found GM coil packs and harnesses on eBay and ended up costing me about $240...smoking deal. You can also slot your coil packs to enable the use of them, but with my build I wanted the best looks and reliability. The coil pack harnesses look better anyways.

I want to share something...if you change and change to the newer coil packs an alternative to the Holley valve covers for $250 is the nice powder coated ones the guy is doing in the parts classifieds and ordering the billet coil brackets from Summit...total 224 shipped...and you can pick your color for valvecovers...let me keep the ls6 coils off my 04.

Vc Got another set of heads form a friend at the machine shop. Using a pair of Billet Specilities valve covers with the ribs since the engine is going in a 32 Ford. Coil packs will be relocated inside the car. Thanks for all the help.
