So your FAST 92 is ported as well & you only gained 7 rwhp?

So instead of using difference #'s from the same day, you chose to use a baseline number from a month before which your tuner said was a different correction factor, & just throw those #'s together? Definitely seems off in reality. I like Svede1212's dyno comparison post better!

Well, this is what I get for not checking this forum yesterday.

1) Wrong section
2) This has been beaten to DEATH. A FAST is worth 10-15rwhp on just about any setup over an LS6. More if the heads are better or the motor is bigger.
3) The price is the price. It sucks *** but it is what it is and you have to pay to play. Don't like it? Cheap turbos on aisle ebay.

I ain't touching what you're smoking. What you said was " the flow of a ported fast 92 is only about 7-10 cfm higher than a stock ls6 manifold..."

listen to this then... i got a heads and cam done from a place in a different state... there i baseline 420... then move to another state and baseline 420 as well, then get retuned that same day and move to 448, then a month later on same dyno baseline 420 again, then with the addition of a ported fast i go up to 455... so if i "really" gained horsepower each time, my starting horsepower was 392 and my ending horsepower was 455... all gains on same dyno by same tuner... now from that it looks like i magically gained 63rwhp from a different tune and a fast inkake? major bs there lol... but some people i guess would be gullible enough to believe that

So lets say a +7-12 cfm per runner while maintaining velocity, for a V8 that equals 56-96 cfm of additional flow. A FAST in front of heads like AFR's, Trick Flows and others is a must or you will never realize the potential of a head that flows 300 cfm at 600 etc......

well no fast intake gets to 300cfm no matter what is done to it... a good reason why the coyote motor works so well is most likely the head flow and intake flow is relatively equal... instead of us ls guys who some have 400cfm heads coupled to intakes that flow 280s max ported out, my heads flow great, but are still greatly restricted by the intake... this is what they flow on a 4.03 bore with no exhaust and i have a 4.08 bore which will get better numbers than this and with my cam specs i'm at least at 345cfm intake and 235 exhaust
Flow Data:
No Exhaust Pipe

LIFT INTAKE FLOW EXHAUST FLOW
.100" 66 CFM 57 CFM
.200" 147 CFM 117 CFM
.300" 228 CFM 170 CFM
.400" 282 CFM 206 CFM
.500" 321 CFM 227 CFM
.600" 343 CFM 235 CFM
.650" 355 CFM 241 CFM
.700" 360 CFM 245 CFM

Hey guys,

I am doing a swap in my g35 coupe, and it's a stock LS6 (no cam or heads). I have a ported Fast 102 with a ported Nick Williams 102 TB. The oem z06 exhaust manifolds will stay. Do you guys think the fast will give me any gains? A tuner told me I might gain a few up top but lose hp at low rpms.

Let me know. If it's a detriment, I will get rid of it and stay with the stock ls6 mani. I do like the fast though since it already has fast fuel rails and fast fuel 46lb injectors, things I would need to replace in my oem one due to damage.

Thanks

on a stock ls6 you will gain yes is it worth the cost? not on a stock motor to me at least but if you plan to add a cam later then now is a good time to do it

No it doesn't, my point is that you want the best flow possible to ported or aftermarket heads that you have invested money in otherwise you're choking off your performance potential.

Stop wasting your breath man, this guy lives in a world where a PORTED Fast barely outflows a stock ls6 intake and gains roughly 5-7whp on a H/C combo. Everyone else here knows what a FAST really gains lol it may not be the best bang for the buck mod but its better than that

i'm jjust saying there are sooooo many ways you can get it to look like you gained horsepower on a dyno.... and of course the people selling them are going to do their very best at "showing" those gains to please the customers... i'm not saying its impossible to gain 10-15 with a fast, but of how much that is really the fast and not the different tune, or dyno, or whether the car was baselined hot, vs a cold glory pull etc etc etc... its realllly easy to fudge a gain of 10 or so horsepower on a dyno.... even those rediculous tornado metal blade thingys "showed" hp gains on a dyno haha
