Default High temp paint on headers?

I have search and the answers are all over the place. I was going to give the headers a nice sand job and spary them with some high temp paint. They are pacesetters with the armor coating with very little rust . I just wanted the fresh silver look on the top of the header tubes. I have vht 1500-2000 degree paint but I have read grill paint and Seymour also. Any thoughts?

I had "OK" life out of POR high temp "cast iron" gray on
iron manifolds, but headers do get a lot hotter it seems.
You might give POR high temp paints a look. I would not
expect anything to be maintenance free.

I have also just read on people using black fireplace paint and getting a couple year out of it. I was going to go with silver since I like the look, but if black is easier that is the way I will go.

Im sure whatever you spray on them would burn off in a few days...if you plan on keeping them I would go with someone like Jet Hot, etc. would actually coats them.

I have used the 7$ can of vht on headers and cast manifolds with great results. I spray em, then use a propane torch and heat them up. second coat them and torch them again. Works great for me. The key to any paint is prep. scuff them up good.

I'll reiterate, it's all in the prep work, if you want them to hold up well, degrease them, sandblast them, clean them with metal prep, then paint.

I sanded them yesterday and made sure everything was scuffed up. I used 90-240 grit then finished with a scuff pad. Then I used a paint prep while wearing gloves so no oil would get on the preped area. Hung them up and sprayed away, now I have to bake them.
