Default Boring a 5.3 to 6.0?

So my friend just bought a 5.3, it may need to be bored .30, if i remember correctly, the 4.8/5.3/6.0 all share the same stroke. so what if he just bought larger pistons and had it bored farther? he could make a 6.0 or larger out of it right? what else would be involved in him doing this? just bore and pistons? or does he need new rods and other parts?

5.3L - 5.7L - 6.0 share the same 3.622 stroke crank. The 4.8L has a 3.27" stroke.

You can take the 5.3L block out to the 3.903-3.905 (LS1-LS6) piston size. There are tons of piston choices in those 2 sizes. Most people don't take 5.3's and go to a 4" hole.

I haven't heard of much people boring out a 5.3 to that much. It'd make the sleeves so thin. It wouldn't be worth it to resleeve it either I wouldn't think. Why not just source out a 6.0 block?

Sleeves .... did you say sleeves ? Iron blocks don't have sleeves most Gen III 5.3 blocks were iron . Only LM4 and L33 were aluminum and they probably made up less than 10% of total production . Now when you get into Gen IV 5.3 blocks that percentage increases.
