Default Should I be disappointed in my car

Well guys I finally had my car Dyno tuned and it dynoed 318.59 rwhp and 331 torque. Run conditions where 86.33 f humidity was 22% all this money and work and that's all I'm pushing I mean I'm all bolt ons with full exhaust ls6 intake and pptb and I'm a4 with 323 gears I feel so disappointed

I don't know how many times I have to say this to people lol...don't get caught up in the dyno numbers! Take it to the track and start there

Swap out the 323 gears you will love your car..don't worry about the low dyno #s

I disagree... Those numbers are fairly low for what you have. A dyno is a tool just like anything else... It IS a measuring stick to a degree. Sure a track is the end-all-be-all but nonetheless, I would certainly be disappointed.

Considering we don't know details on what is done to the car, type of dyno, what converter, whether the converter was unlocked or locked, etc who knows?

IMO your numbers seem reasonable for an auto with unlocked stall on a stingy dyno.

Dang..... I would think the converter has something to do with low numbers. LT Headers, ORY, Lid, tune,!EGR and !AIR through my LS1 intake (M6 also) netted me 345 rwhp on the dyno.

My exact thoughts. Without knowing details which thunderstruck mentioned, how can anyone give a really good response. Regardless, you need to run it at a track to see true performance of the car.

The local dynojet to my parent's house would **** off a lot of people on this site. I've seen 243 headed 230 duration cammed ls1 cars make ~380rwhp through a stick and stock rear end on it.

Bolt on ls1 cars are doing good to come close to OP's numbers through a stick.

Dynos are good for seeing the hp/tq curves and seeing changes between mods. That's about all the faith I have in them.

Hell, my car only made 389rwhp on a not so stingy dyno with the converter unlocked.

But so far it's ran 11.67@115mph (7.42@95mph 1/8th...won't backhalf for some reason) in over 1000ft DA. It weighs right at 3700lbs with me in it.

My buddies 02 m6 kook Lt true dual out the back put down 355 rwhp, I have never had my car on a dyno due to not caring about anything but my time slip, my car is a 98 high stall, exhaust A4, I do not think it would dyno anywhere near 355 rwhp, his car ran 12.68, my car ran 12.69, so like said above....my time slips are my dyno

Seems on par with the dynojet I go to. Full bolton ls1 f-bodys see 305-325rwhp. Both cars in sig with #'s were tuned there.

Some things are just unexplainable! Like how my car makes 100 rwhp less than my buddy's ported/pullied 03 Cobra (both dynoed on the exact same dyno to boot) but is almost a dead nuts race. We both have the same weight, driving skill, and gearing. Like I said...Some things just can't be rationally explained lol. If the car is running like it should for the mods it has then that's all that truly matters in the real world

Yes guys it's auto 323 gears and yes it was on a Dyno jet. My mods are Slp lm1. Arh headers 1/34. Slp air lid. Slp cia. Black wing air filter. 160 stat. Ls6 intake. Pptb from potz. Tb bypass smooth air bellow and that's it. Ok with out the Dyno tune the car ran 313. Something rwhp and now when he tuned the car it ran 318.59 tq was 331.29

I wouldn't care too much about what my car made on a dyno, but I'd run a stall test on that converter or see what it makes with that converter locked on that same dyno you went to, my car made 481rwhp while it was getting dyno tuned, and being curious brought it somewhere else and it made 497hp, I still tell people it only makes 481rwhp, and when I tell them what's all in it they say that's a low number, and then they're wondering why they still lost the race.

i would not be upset with those numbers. IMO thru an auto thats not bad. my buddies z28 made 293 to the tire with a catback, and he is m6. you put down almost 30 more whp thru an auto! i would be fine with the numbers it made. My 2000 ws6 m6 is headers magnafow muffler slp lid and smooth bellows and a tune i did myself, i expect my car to make around 330whp. so if you are making 12whp less thru an auto that wouldnt be bad
