Air pump delete threw code?

Air pump delete threw code? I've deleted the AIR injection system on every Fbody I've ever came in contact with and not once got a code until now. I removed it from a 02 WS6 and it threw a air pump code? Are some cars just different? I don't understand what happened.
The PCM performs a A.I.R. system test once in a while. It turns the system on and looks for a change in the O2 sensor. No change, it thinks there's a problem and throws a code.
All stock PCM's will perform this test. Can't tell you why the other cars you've done haven't set the code, they should have.
You can get the test tuned out from the PCM, it's pretty commonly done.

Readiness sensor tuning
takes all of about 5 minutes...all your other F-bodies should have thrown that code as well, unless like stated below, previous owners tuned it out, but left the pump in place and intact.
