Default installing autometer oil psi gauge

i know there have been multiple threads about this, but i cant seem to find the answer to my question after using the search function. im going to buy this gauge to match the water temp gauge i already have.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/atm-4327/overview/

my question is, the sending unit that looks like it comes with this gauge looks huge.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/atm-2242

i was going to install the sender above the oil filter in that housing, but im not sure if it will fit with my LT headers. has anyone done this or do they make a smaller sender that will work better?

Assuming this is for a 2000 Camaro, you could do the OPSU remote mod which replaces the OPSU with a fitting and a line so you can mount it elsewhere. You could have a Tee at the sender to accommodate the Autogauge sending unit.

(photo upload ain't working for me so for now I'll do this)

Yes, under the body skins of these F-body cars, they're identical.

Install the Autometer sending unit in the same way as where I installed my under hood gauge.

Yes it will fit there. That is where mine is mounted. No clearance issues. Paces setter long tube.

If your headers allow, you could install it like this:

I believe the sender is 1/8 npt. So I used whatever bit that tap calls for.
