I can tell you from experience on the 102 that the bellmouths have very sharp angles that can be rolled over and smoothed, then the runnerand port need to be opened up to have a smooth flow from the main runner part
Thanks for the feedback! So regardless of the price you are saying that the port job basically sucks? He said he copied Tony Mamo and did it himself. Sounds like that might be a bunch of BS then

I agree with redbird that the price is still too high. I think your best bet in this situation is to find an untouched 102 for a great price. With your setup it would benefit greatly. If you have the mechanical inclination to port a 102 yourself then do it but if you're like me and do not I would have it sent to Mamo. Yes, other places are cheaper but his port work is second to none and you will not be leaving any power on the table.

If you really want the FAST in that CL ad and the guy says he mimicked Mamo, you should have the guy send pics of the FAST and ask Tony what he thinks. He'll give you an honest opinion. Hope this helps.

ya my port job was approved by tony lol. That one really doesnt look like he did much. Ported runners would look really gray and have sanding marks in them. That still looks like the factory black finish on the plastic

I'd buy a FAST 92 intake used in excellent condition or new, then sell the LS6 intake. The only other thing you need to buy is either a FAST TB adapter #146029-KIT ($44) or CBM tapered adapter #CBM-10708 ($80) which is good for at least a several hp over the FAST adapter, then mount you stock TB to it. IMO, this is still a better option than a FAST 78 or 90 intake manifold. Later when you have the extra cash flow buy a NW 92 TB, and sell the tb adapter and stock TB.

The only disadvantage a BBK SSI with 85mmTB has to a LS6 is about 10lbs more weight, and the "heat soak" issue, if you actually there's one (which I don't). otherwise imo, it's better.

Waite...so you are saying those two options you just listed will adapt my ported stock LS1 TB to the Fast 92? Because if so that would be awesome lol! Also why is option two better than option one...please explain?

Yes, exactly that!
The CBM is tapered(small to larger) so there less air flow turbulence, which means better flow into (and through)the intake manifold.

Yep apparently I did forget that lol. Unless I can find a smoking deal on a 90 mm TB I love the CBM idea! From what Tony was saying the TB is the least restrictive part anyways
