Default Pcm and wiring...HELP

I recently bought a z28 roller without the pcm and engine harness of course...What do I need to know when looking for a pcm and wiring harness? Will any 98-02 ls1 harness/pcm work?

Welcome to LS1tech!

Assuming your roller is a 98-02, yes, any matching harness & PCM will work.

Awesome! I just wanted to cover my bases because I've heard of some harnesses like the 98 I believe take more work to convert to stand alone. So I wasn't sure if mixing and matching would work

The 98 has some one year only features, ie temp gauges works off sender instead of ecu. But nothing that's not fixable. What year is your roller?

You'd probably be better off getting a harness that matches the year of the body. Although engine-wise they'll all work, the gauges might be an issue.

you know that a corvette harness and ecu are set up foe DBW TB? Can be used that way in your car or repined/rewired and tuned for cable TB like the car was set up.

The DBW LS1 PCM's have an additional chip. I'm pretty sure it can still be tuned as a cable actuated TB unit.

Thanks for the input guys, just trying to figure out my options here. If anyone has a pcm and engine harness laying around let me know because I'm in the market. Thanks!
