5.3 Harmonic balancer install I have a 5.3 vortec from a 2002 Silverado, in my 69 el Camino. I had quick performance Assy drive. I am installing a Holley Assyrian drive system. During this change I have found that. I think the Harmonic balancer may have been pushed back about 1/8 ". The truck I got the engine and trans from washit in the front end. I remember that the water pump had to be replaced because it was damaged. Everything else looked fine so I installed it. When I did the swap I did have to modify some of the KWIK Performance Assyrian drive parts. It did its job and worked fine. I did the swap when the after market was just starting for the LS swaps. I am trying to find the correct install depth or distance for the harmonic balancer. Facing the front of the engine I measured from the front edge of the harmonic balancer to the stub (or boss) on the right side ( drivers side) of the timing cover. Their are 2 round spots about the size of a dime. I measured to the top one. The measurement I got was 4 5/8 ". If anyone can tell me what the correct measurement is I would greatfully appreciate it.
