I have Prothane poly motor mounts and a stock trans mount. I had a poly trans mount for less than a week and took it out, I hated it that much.

This X 10... I have had 3 different F-bodys with poly mm's and loved them in all. All of them were 100+ miles a day drivers not trailer queens. No extra vibrations at all.

I've heard others say that but it wasn't that noticeable to me other than you don't want to leave change in your cup holder because it will rattle and drive you insane.

Sounds like your listening then. Well done. Most ask for input and do something off the wall, then post back they hate their decision.

I've never understood this. I ran Spohn solid mounts and a PROTHANE (keyword) transmission mount and never had a single gripe about it.

Now I've heard about some bitching with Energy Suspension though...

I love my UMI solids along with a prothane trans mount. Takes out all the slack in the drivetrain from the shitty, flabby stock mounts and actually makes the car easier/nicer to drive. Only causes a small amount of extra vibration.

Guess people want their performance cars to be like a Camry.

I agree. I don't get it. As long as everything is aligned and correct there shouldn't be any issues.

Bingo. Stock mounts can sag and tear over time. Putting in stiffer aftermarket mounts can raise the engine or trans, changing driveline angles and possibly causing vibration. Taking the extra bit of time to make sure everything is correct can make a drastic difference.

Is there a hp range where solids would be more appropriate? My goal is 425-450 and driven maybe 50 miles a week.

I don't have any vibration with the prothane motor/trans mounts. My old combo was Energy Suspension motor mounts and a stock trans mount. The Y pipe would still hit the floor from time to time and shifter would get a little violent when the clutch would chatter. Now the drive train is solid, Y pipe hasn't hit the floor once and the clutch chatter/trans shake is gone.

I've read of a few people complain about a bad vibration with a poly trans mount, but I haven't had that experience. I would never go back to a stock trans mount... To each their own.
