Default True Duals...

I have searched to many times and either i cant comprehend what im reading or i cant just fine the right answers. I think i got the answer then i get thrown off with something totaly different. So im starting a new post.

I have a 1999 Camaro z28 M6... I have about 600 dollars to spend. I was thinking Headers (maybe flowtech or pacesetter... i think im going to wrap them big time with header wrap and save on the coating) The headers should cost 300 with shipping and whatnot else. so that leaves me 300 to get toe true dual effect. How do i do it?

Ill be doing all the install and fabing myself except if i need some piping bent. But i got a lift... air tools... and a welder. So let me know.

Now i want to do true duals. I want to end up with headers to true duals that come out the the center exhaust does on the ss 345HP package.

I know im going to need 2 mufflers for back pressure. What should i go with?

What kinda x or h pipe should i go with?

What kinda piping am i going to need to weld this stuff together. I was thinking 3 in all the way back off the headers.

So please answer these questions and get back to me with what u know and can help provide. What are some good places to look at for the parts? Where can I get them... What are good brands? I am looking for a nice setup that is for sure to work and ill do the work i just need a setup... by the way... Where could i get tips for the center exhaust by the way too?

Thanks once again.

$300 ain't gonna get you true duals over the axle. if you did it yourself, you could probably dump them at the axle.

my advice; save up more money. get some coated headers and forget the header wrap. since you want to go out the back and mate up to the CME ogistics are going to be a bit tough. i'd go with 2.5" piping and your choice of mufflers. are you going under, over the axel and if over are you going both on the passenger side or one on the drivers and one on the passengers. you can get piping and x pipes from jegs or summit.

honestly i think this setup is going to costs you alot more then 600 dollars.

yea, that setup will definitly cost you more than 300 dollars. especially if you want over the axle. like jrp said, i would save up more money, and get some coated headers. i would also try to avoid the flowtech headers, ive heard nothing but bad about them. just remember that you are going to get waht you pay for. and if you are doing all the fabing yourself, then you should be able to get all your piping from summit or jegs. good luck with whatever you end up doing

Where are you guys getting your exhaust done? On my truck i had 3" run from the headers to cutouts and reduced into dual 2.5" pipe into mellow tone mufflers and ran out back with 4" chrome tips. All for $250! I went to a family owned redneck shop that does the best work i've ever seen. The welds are perfect, and if you have any problems they fix it free. Gotta love rednecks for somethin. lol. They also installed my ORY, LM, and got rid of the cats for $50. Everything welded up too.

Just look for a small shop rather than a big name shop to get it done. It will save you alot of money, and they usualy have more experience to boot.

def. Borla's, absolute best performance muffler, go w/ dual 2.5", although they are a bit pricey they are well worth it!........... and your gonna have to go ahead and throw that budget thing out the window, lol, seriously if you get any old $30 mufflers you could do it for $300 including pipeing, but make sure to get your alignment correct before you finish any welds

Ok... Well i was thinking flowtech or pacesetter. So i go with Pacesetter thats 299 for the header. (talked to my friend he said he will coat them for free.) So thats done. I found this shop that will bend my piping over the axle for 40 bucks. So thats so far 350 or so... I now need piping and mufflers and tips. How much piping am i going to need. And what kinda piping.. anyone have part numbers i could search thier site for? What kinda mufflers should i go with... Id like to know a cheap muffler that is a good and expensive muffler that is good. What kinda x or h pipe should i go with (part number please)? And what kinda tips do u suggest.

Im asking for all your ideas cuz im going to check them out and then pick and choose which i like. So please help me out to your best abilty. Thanks.

Good extremely high flowing cheap mufflers are Flo-Pro's. There like $50 each and sound good. On the higher end theres Borla and Magna.

ok... Now.... say i dont go with center mount exhuast. Im just going to dump it off before the axle. That takes the cost of the piping over the axles off and the tips off... So now im looking for a setup that will come off the headers and dump off befoe the axle. So please post pics if u have them and some helpful ideas on what x pipe or h pipe i could use and then what other kinda piping im going to need. Thanks...

The setup i have tight now with what i have researched is.....

Pacesetter headers - 300
Hedman's x pipe kit - 185
Total 485

Now i still need mufflers and turndowns... I have been looking at jegs but i cant seem to find which one i want or which would be better. So if you could please give some suggestions. Where can i get those flo pro's and what size turndowns should i get and by who... any other sites that have these? Please help me out as much as possibly... id like to keep it around 650 or so... but sometime u must scarafice. Thanks.
