I definitely regret not going with the FAST 102 instead lol

Honestly I just decided to do that as well after the out of stock incident. I'm going to take the bracket from my stock LS1 intake and fab it to the MSD bracket I got. I did get her started today for the first time. Seems like every time is good so far but I won't know until I get it on the road to really drive and get it tuned.

Yeah it looks kinda trashy but paint it black and hidden behind all the vacuum lines and you can't even see it

For the amount of money people are spending on this MSD intake, there should be ZERO issues. Three weeks for a bracket? The intake shouldn't have been announced without adequate stock of all necessary hardware for all possible configurations. Thank you for sharing your experience lq4240 and sorry for your troubles. You deserve better considering your investment.

The scale on just how big MSD dropped the ball on this is embarrassing.

Injector bosses not drilled.
Intakes not sealing
No Hardware included.
Hardware needed unavailable

Most of all it doesnt live up to the glory claims MSD was making

Oh yeah I had to reuse the bolts off the ls6 intake I had to bolt it down. I mentioned this to my tuner and he said "I just tuned one of those for a guy that has a c5 zo6. The difference between the ls6 and the msd was 1hp..."
I'm still waiting on dyno time but I will update you guys as soon as I get on there with my numbers.

I'm not sure if its the same article as before, but read an article on Facebook today where LMR made 30 hp with a MSD over a stock LS7 intake. The Z06 was lightly modded.

Very interesting. I wonder how much of a difference having the better flowing heads and different runner design of the ls7 vs the ls1/6 catherdral ports makes with the power gains.

anyone tested one of these on a >650whp boosted setup yet? I'm curious on the reliability and gains over a stock ls7 intake setup. I'm fine with my current ls7 intake but if this offers good gains and does not have the issues the FAST has in boosted applications then could be interested

I did... made 862/760 but was spinning with a very fat tune and no timing in it. So there was no need to add more timing or lean it out on the dyno since it wasn't holding.

Here's the snapshot of the data log. See, afr was 10.5 and timing was only 14.5 degrees. There was a lot left in the tune, just no point in making more pulls when the tires kept letting go at 4000 rpm.

Default MSD vs LS6

I have back to backed my LS1 with both intakes and I see 25 hp based on mph at the track with the MSD and 102mm tb over LS6 with 85mm tb. My car runs in the 10.90@124 mph range with a lq9 headed large cammed 5.7'
I turn 7600 clean but the map is at 98 thru the traps so the plenum is restrictive on both intakes. Here the baro is high and map koeo is 103 at times. I do have a surge issue and have yet to find where the leak is. I replaced all the gaskets compliments of MSD still surges.

My car idles perfect at 650 these days with no surging. Sure it still has some issues returing to idle every once and a while, and cold starts are still not quite 100%, but considering it's a 416, with an f1a, and a decent size cam, I'm pretty happy.

I pressure tested my intake tract up to ~20psi and the only leak I have is from the throttle body shaft seal. Try doing that to see if you can find your leak.

What did you end up doing about the water vent lines? Did you mod the existing ones or replace them?

I replaced them. I connected the rear two together, and then connected the front 2 together, and returned them to the radiator.

Cool, I'll see if I can figure out how to do the same. Thanks!

So I got a hold of tech support and asked for the dimensions of the hardware in their adapter kit for using LS1 injectors with LS2 rails, and they said the o-rings are 4.31x7mm. Closest thing I've been able to find is 4.1x7.1, think that small of a difference would be a problem? I'm thinking being a tighter fit both on the ID and the OD might help since people are saying they have trouble getting them to seal properly, but I thought maybe someone on here would be able to say with a little more certainty. Thoughts?

So the instructions say there are a screw and washer provided to mount the MAP sensor, but a) there's no hole on the MAP sensor for a screw to go through, looks like it needs some kind of bracket, and b) no such screw and washer came with my intake. In fact, there's a bunch of hardware missing. Anyone else having this issue, or is it just me?

So now, after all their colossal failures in product design and quality control, MSD has dropped the ball YET AGAIN, this time in customer service. I realized that they shorted me big time on hardware, and when I called to ask that they fix THEIR mistake, the best they could offer me was to suggest that I buy a new intake, then return the old one for a refund. Which means that I can't move forward with my build until the new intake arrives. How on earth did this company ever build a good reputation like the one they have if THIS is how they operate?
