Can you elaborate a little more on the fixed orifice style PCV please

Instead of a variable/movable valve Like our engines came with, the fixed orifice valve just has a small hole in it.

It does clean it up quite a bit. That's most of the appeal at this point... Plus I'm in there already, so if it doesn't do the trick, I can always go with a catch can easier down the road.

Well... I ordered an lS6 valley cover tonight. I figured it's best to do this now while I have access. If I'm still not happy, I can easily install a nice catch can.

Nope. Seems that's the number cast right onto the part!

Yeap the part # is cast into the bottom . But check it before you leave , mine was in a sealed GM with the correct part # 12577927 , but when I opened the box I found a standard valley cover ! It was not an LS6 at all.

When I got my truck, I installed the LS6 PCV system-and a catch can. My motor had a long ago failed LS1 PCV system. Even with the LS6 system, I still catch a few ounces of oil every month. But my intake is bone dry.

Paul, mine looked that bad as well when I took my intake off for the first time. I've pulled it a couple of times since to inspect, and that LS6 PCV really helps. I still get very minor amounts of oil, and I need to install a catch can, but I've got other issues first.

Bottom line, yes, the LS6 valley cover is worth it IMO

BTW folks, the four corner LS1 cooling tube fits under the LS6 intake if the ribs on the underside of the manifold are shaved. Four corner cooling is better.

I want to make sure I've got this correct...the second design LS6 valley cover (P/N 12577927) has the PCV valve installed under it? So then I will just use a plain ol' hose to connect to the intake manifold, correct?

^^ Thanks. I'll be running a Super Vic - so I will probably have to run a different hose.

Mine is done, too. Easy deal.

Wound up going with the Super Vic and 4150 throttle body. Just completed the install at lunch today - and added an LS6 valley for good measure. I will find out how it runs tomorrow.
